MyCare-Universe is free to use and free to be listed in. These are the terms it is offered on.

MyCare-Universe is a directory and a source of information. We are not a medical provider, we do not practise medicine, and we do not employ or supervise the clinicians listed here.

Everything on the site — directory listings, price ranges, the drug pages, the writing in DocTalk — is information. None of it is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for being seen, and none of it accounts for your history, your medicines or your circumstances. Do not start, stop or change a treatment on the strength of anything you read here. No doctor–patient relationship is created by using this site, including by reading an article written by a physician.

Anything that worries you belongs with your own doctor. If this is an emergency, call 911.

What the listings are

Listings come from two places. Most are built from public records published by the federal government under the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System — the register every licensed clinician in the United States appears in. Those records are public, they are not created by us, and neither we nor the clinician has confirmed them. Registry addresses and telephone numbers go out of date routinely.

The rest are listings a clinician has claimed as their own and published. Some of them they typed; some they gave us on a form or over the phone and we entered. Either way nothing appears on a profile until the clinician has read it as you will read it and published it themselves, which is what makes it their account of their practice rather than our note of a conversation. Those are marked Verified and are the only listings search returns. Verification is a check on who somebody is — identity against a licence — and not on how good they are, and it is not a check that what they wrote about their own practice is accurate. That distinction is set out under About us.

Either way, confirm licence, insurance and availability with the practice before you rely on anything here. A listing is a starting point for a phone call, not a record you should act on.

A clinician may ask to have their listing corrected or removed at any time, at no cost, through Contact us.

Accounts

Searching this site, reading anything on it and looking at prices need no account. One is required only to book an appointment, because a practice has to know who is coming and has to be able to reach you if something changes.

An account holds your name, your email address, a hashed password — we never keep the password itself and cannot tell you what it is — and, if you choose to give them, a phone number and date of birth so a booking form can fill itself in. It also lists the appointments you have booked through us.

Your appointments stay in your account. Thirty days after each one, the details we passed to the practice — your date of birth, phone number and the reason you gave for the visit — are cleared from our side. The practice has them in their own system by then and does not need us holding a second copy.

What remains is that you had an appointment, when, with whom, and whether it happened. That is your record of having booked, not a medical record, and must not be relied on as one: the practice keeps that, and theirs is the copy that counts.

Ask us and we will delete your account and everything in it. Deleting it does not cancel an appointment — call the practice for that, because they hold the calendar.

How this site is paid for

Being listed is free for every clinician, and always will be. Clinicians who want online booking, a profile they write themselves, and help putting a booking link on their own Google listing pay us a monthly subscription for it.

That subscription buys features, not position. Verified profiles appear above unconfirmed ones because a profile a clinician keeps current is more useful than a stale public record — and every listing tells you which it is. Between two verified profiles nothing is for sale. There is no advertising anywhere on this site, and no listing is treated differently based on how a patient pays.

Booking, and which clinicians offer it

Online booking is not available for every clinician on this site. It is offered only by practices that subscribe to it, have agreed to accept bookings made here, and have published times themselves. Everyone else is listed with their contact details so you can call them directly.

Whether a clinician subscribes affects only that: whether you can book online, and whether they wrote their own profile. It does not affect whether they appear in search results, and no clinician can pay to be ranked above another.

When you book, the appointment is between you and the practice. We pass your details to them and confirm what they tell us. We do not provide care, we do not decide whether an appointment is appropriate for you, and we cannot guarantee a practice will honour a time it published — a practice keeps its own calendar, and a time offered here may have been filled elsewhere.

Prices are estimates

Price ranges come from published national data adjusted for region. They are not quotes, not offers, and not binding on any facility. The number that counts is the one the facility gives you in writing.

Using the site

• Use it for finding and understanding care. Do not scrape the directory, resell it, or use it to build a competing listing.
• Do not use it to send unsolicited commercial contact to anyone listed.
• Do not try to break, overload, or get around the limits on the service.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available and cannot guarantee either. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of what you read here — which is the practical reason the first section above exists.

Changes

These terms will change as the site does, particularly when patient accounts open. The current version is always the one on this page.
